    Join Dementia Friendly Denton County as a Master Naturalist guides a group walk through one of Flower Mound’s Parks. These six weekly walks are a great source of exercise, education, and sensory stimulation. All walks are free, and a caregiver must accompany loved ones on the nature walk.   • Stepping Stones Denton

    Stepping Stones is a peer group for persons with early stage dementias. Volunteer organization assisted by TWU occupational therapy students. Concurrent Family Support Group facilitated by social workers.

    Provides meaningful activities and engagement, promotes social interaction in a welcoming environment, facilitates emotional ties through reminiscence activities, and provides strategies to improve quality of life.

    As a caregiver, it is important to take care of your own well-being and to connect with others that understand. This group is conducted by a trained facilitator, and is a a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to exchange practical information on caregiving challenges, talk through issues and ways of coping, and learn about community resources.
